Job summary

Christiana Care Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech for the overnight shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Sunday through Thursday with weekend and holiday rotation, at the Newark location.

The role requires CSPDT/CRCST certification and involves cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, labeling, and tracking instruments per policy. Responsibilities include decontamination, instrument processing, inventory management and supporting staff in the operating room environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sterile Processing Technician Certification CBSPD/CRCST required.
• Individuals that were employed prior to requirements will be grandfathered.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and decontaminates surgical instruments and other medical equipment following established policy and procedure.
• Inspects, assembles, packages and sterilizes medical devices following manufacturer’s recommendations and established procedure.
• Assemble, wrap and label basic and especially specialty instruments and sets according to information in the CensiTrfac system for tracking purposes.
• Receive, unload, sort, inspect, wash and process instruments and equipment for decontamination both manually and by automated means.
• Reads, interprets, and records sterilization parameters from sterilizer recording mechanism and completes records of sterilization process, chemical/biological test results, and sterilizer cleaning.
• Provides asset management and support of surgical instruments and trays belonging to or consigned to the facility, in accordance with The Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards.
