Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is seeking a Certified Central Sterile Technician for the evening shift on a per diem basis. The CSPD role supports decontamination, cleaning, assembling, and sterilizing instruments, and preparing case carts to help expedite the OR schedule.

A current National Sterile Processing Certification is required, with a minimum of 2 years CSPD experience; CRCST experience of 5 years is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years CSPD experience in a hospital setting.
• Five years CRCST experience preferred.
• Current National Sterile Processing Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and clean all instruments and equipment.
• Operate washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and appropriate sterilizers.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and function before assembly.
• Assemble instrument sets and prepare case carts to support OR scheduling.
• Maintain inventory for instruments and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to safety standards and use PPE as required.
