Job summary

New York Pulmonary Consultants, a division of Stony Brook Community Medical, is seeking a part-time Sleep Technologist to perform overnight sleep testing in a pulmonary practice. The role requires careful pre-study preparation, patient education, and precise testing procedures.

You may also take on daytime duties such as scoring studies, preparing reports, fitting masks, and assisting with PAP therapy desensitization, contributing to comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be either a certified respiratory therapist and/or RPSGT (Registered polysomnography technician).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing overnight sleep testing for a pulmonary practice.
• Carefully preparing for the sleep study prior to the patients arrival.
• Explaining the procedure to the patient.
• Calibrate and conduct appropriate sleep testing.
• Opportunities for daytime responsibilities including scoring the study, preparing reports, mask interface fitting and desensitization to PAP therapy.
