Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, PA seeks a Full-Time Human Research Technologist (Sleep) to explain study aspects and procedures, maintain lab equipment, apply electrodes, and monitor overnight sleep studies. The role is on third shift with some weekend work.

Responsibilities include monitoring overnight recordings, performing PSGs and Actigraphy data collection, maintaining equipment and supplies, collecting biological samples, and coordinating data management with project teams.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree with 2+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) strongly preferred.
• Clearances include PA State Police, PA Child Abuse History, FBI fingerprint checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overnight sleep research recordings and monitor studies for quality control.
• Perform PSGs and collect Actigraphy and other participant data.
• Maintain sleep lab supplies and recording equipment in working order.
• Collect and analyze biological samples (saliva, urine).
• Update and manage databases, resolve data issues, and track forms.
• Collaborate with coordinators, investigators, and data personnel to plan sleep data tasks.
