Job summary

Plymouth Housing is seeking an Overnight Shift Supervisor to lead operational activities across our 24/7 portfolio of properties in the Greater Seattle area. The role focuses on safe, hospitality-centered operations and serves as the after-hours escalation point for frontline staff, providing coaching and real-time support.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years in supportive housing or 24/7 operations.
  • 1+ year in supervisory or shift coordination role.
  • Overnight or Swing shift experience preferred.
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary escalation contact for overnight frontline staff.
  • Respond in person to high-acuity incidents and make decisions.
  • Manage overnight scheduling across buildings and coverage.
  • Ensure union contract compliance and overtime rules.
  • Supervise On-Call Residential Specialists with coaching.
  • Maintain safety checks, incident reporting, and guest logs.
  • Coordinate after-hours response with safety and maintenance teams.
  • Promote hospitable, trauma-informed building environments.
  • Provide organized incident documentation and handoffs to Site Operations Managers.
  • Occasionally provide temporary onsite coverage as needed.

SALARY

$84,240 - $85,176

New hires may earn a salary ranging from the minimum to the midpoint of the pay scale, with education and experience taken into consideration.

About This Role

The Overnight Shift Supervisor provides portfolio-wide operational leadership during overnight hours, helping ensure safe, consistent, and hospitality-centered operations across Plymouth Housing’s 24/7 sites. This role is the primary after-hours escalation point for Residential Specialists and other frontline staff, providing real-time coaching, operational direction, and in-person support during complex or high-risk situations.

The Overnight Shift Supervisor maintains shift coverage, supports frontline staff, coordinates emergency response, and promotes predictable building operations outside regular business hours. This position plays an important role in strengthening staff confidence, resident safety, and Plymouth Housing’s commitment to trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and Housing First practices.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary escalation contact for overnight frontline staff, providing consultation, coaching, and direction during resident crises, safety concerns, behavioral escalations, and building disruptions.
  • Respond in person to high-acuity incidents as needed; make timely operational decisions within established policy and elevate extreme, high-risk, or portfolio-wide emergencies to the Director of After-Hours Operations.
  • Manage overnight scheduling continuity across assigned buildings, including responding to call-outs, addressing coverage gaps, and reassigning on-call Residential Specialists to maintain safe staffing.
  • Ensure scheduling practices comply with applicable union contract provisions, overtime requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Supervise and support On-Call Residential Specialists through real-time coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and appropriate documentation for business-hours follow-up.
  • Ensure consistent completion of required safety checks, incident reporting, shift documentation, guest-log procedures, emergency protocols, and hospitality responsibilities.
  • Coordinate after-hours response with Safety Ambassadors, Maintenance Technicians, and emergency responders during fires, floods, elevator outages, medical crises, behavioral health emergencies, and other urgent events.
  • Promote safe, welcoming, and orderly building environments through consistent hospitality standards, respectful communication, and predictable enforcement of guest policies and building procedures.
  • Provide clear, organized incident documentation and shift handoffs to Site Operations Managers, and identify trends that may require operational review or follow-up.
  • In rare circumstances, provide temporary onsite operational coverage during unexpected site leadership gaps, as directed, to maintain continuity of safe and reliable building operations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three or more years of experience in supportive housing, shelter operations, property operations, or a comparable 24/7 environment.
  • One or more years of experience in a supervisory, lead, or shift-coordination role.
  • Experience responding to emergencies, resident crises, and behavioral escalations.
  • Experience working overnight or Swing shifts.
  • Experience in multi-site or portfolio-based operations preferred.
  • Training or certification in de-escalation, crisis intervention, behavioral health response, or emergency response preferred.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
