What you will do?

As the Overnight Shift Leader, you will work closely with the Program Coordinator to manage daily program operations, including safety, supervision, providing operational leadership, coaching and training staff, program development, ensuring accurate documentation, and providing direct care coverage.

Specific duties include:
Behavior Management
  • Providing consistent, individualized reinforcement to client behavior, using daily issues to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors.
  • Using proactive/preventive methods to intercept problems before escalation.
  • Utilizing behavior management techniques and de-escalation training to help clients develop appropriate behaviors.
  • Helping clients develop insight into their behaviors for self-correction.
  • Understanding the impact of client behaviors and using team feedback for effective interventions.
Direct Care
  • Knowing the population and individualized treatment plans.
  • Providing daily living supervision and interventions.
  • Building trust-based therapeutic relationships.
  • Evaluating behavioral and treatment interventions and providing feedback.
  • Ensuring basic needs are met timely and appropriately.
  • Following medication management guidelines.
  • Transporting youth safely and monitoring behaviors.
  • Participating in team reviews for case progress and programming.
People
  • Supervising staff on service quality and documentation.
  • Holding regular supervision meetings with staff.
  • Monitoring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Incorporating Trauma-Informed Care into programming.
  • Understanding scheduling and staffing needs.

Qualifications & Program Information

To qualify, you must be at least 21 years old with a High School Diploma or GED. A Bachelor's in Human Services is preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

  • Desire to help kids succeed
  • Experience working with children in mental health settings preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office
