What you will do?

As the Overnight Shift Leader, you will work closely with the Program Coordinator to manage daily program operations, including safety, supervision, providing operational leadership, coaching and training staff, program development, accurate documentation, and providing direct care coverage.

Specific duties include:
Behavior Management
  • Providing consistent, individualized reinforcement to client behavior, using daily issues to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors.
  • Utilizing proactive/preventive methods to intercept problems before escalation.
  • Applying behavior management techniques and de-escalation training to help clients develop appropriate behaviors.
  • Helping clients develop insight into their behaviors for self-identification and correction.
  • Understanding the impact of clients' behaviors on their actions and reactions, and using team feedback to improve interventions.
Direct Care
  • Knowing the population and being aware of individualized treatment plans.
  • Providing daily living supervision and treatment interventions.
  • Establishing trust and respect through therapeutic relationships.
  • Evaluating interventions and providing feedback.
  • Ensuring consistent and timely provision of basic needs.
  • Following medication management guidelines.
  • Safely transporting youth and monitoring behaviors during community activities.
  • Participating in team reviews for case progress and programming.
People
  • Supervising staff on service quality and documentation timeliness.
  • Conducting regular supervision meetings.
  • Monitoring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Implementing Trauma-Informed Care principles.
  • Understanding scheduling and staffing needs.

Qualifications & Program Information

To qualify, you must be at least 21 years old with a High School Diploma or GED. A Bachelor's in Human Services is preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

  • Desire to help kids succeed
  • Experience working with children in mental health settings (preferred)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office
