Job summary

The Salvation Army Centralia Corps is hiring for a Regular Part–Time Overnight Shelter staff member in Chehalis, WA. The role supports shelter operations, client intake, and daily safety checks while maintaining a clean, secure environment for clients and volunteers.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of work experience (preferably in public contact), and ability to work in a fast-paced setting with confidentiality and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Has one year of work experience; preferably six months of public contact / customer service.
• Experience with housekeeping or light custodian work, preferred.
• Experienced with people experiencing homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the shelter for clients including the following duties: log temperatures, laundry, cleaning, and disinfecting.
• Client intake: complete intake forms and HMIS forms, organize client belongings.
• Maintain and update client contact information.
• Distribute bedding and personal items; janitorial duties; safety checks.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; follow policies; maintain confidentiality.
