Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in Duluth is seeking a Full-Time Overnight Senior Youth Worker to provide support and guidance to youth in emergency shelters and housing programs. The role involves creating a safe, supportive environment, building positive relationships, and helping youth identify immediate needs and plan next steps toward stability.

The position requires overnight shifts (11pm–7am) with competitive pay and a $1,000 hiring bonus.

Qualifications

• Some experience working with youth preferred but not required.
• Experience with homeless, at-risk youth or children or youth who have been removed from their homes preferred but not required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to pass a DHS level background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, basic needs, and encouragement to youth ages birth - 17 in an emergency crisis shelter or youth ages 16-24 experiencing homelessness.
• Take on intake duties during overnight shifts and provide guidance for immediate needs and next steps toward stability.
• Conduct minor cleaning and prepare the shelter for the next day.
• Respond to crises and emergent needs of youth seeking shelter.
