Location Overview

The Safety and Security Officer provides protection and communication with hotel guests and staff. Responsibilities include patrolling hotel premises to maintain security, and reporting hazards and violations.

Responsibilities

1. Use proper radio etiquette at all times.
2. Maintain and review daily activity logs.
3. Maintain confidentiality regarding guest and employee incidents.
4. Check IDs of visitors/employees as necessary.
5. Be aware of legal limitations of the position (local, state, federal laws).
6. Assist guests with their rooms or entry according to hotel standards.
7. Respond to emergencies, including medical and security issues.
8. Respond to altercations and conduct investigations.
9. Monitor TV cameras.
10. Administer First Aid/CPR as needed.
11. Identify safety hazards.
12. Complete incident/accident reports clearly and accurately.
13. Monitor access points for unauthorized persons and disturbances.
14. Issue and inventory security equipment and keys daily, if applicable.
15. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
2. Availability to work night shifts.
3. Physical ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and 50 pounds frequently.
4. Ability to stand throughout the shift.
5. Ability to physically deter threats to staff and guests.
6. Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor.
7. Ability to understand and apply complex information from various sources.
