"Our leaders have always encouraged us to try new approaches and learn by experimentation. The biggest learning through this was that persistence and calculated risks, pay off."

At Thompson Dallas, we believe hospitality is personal. Located within The National in the heart of Downtown Dallas, Thompson Dallas blends striking design, exceptional dining, and a vibrant social atmosphere to create experiences that are distinctly local and unmistakably Thompson.

Our hotel features 219 thoughtfully designed guestrooms, including 52 suites, signature dining experiences, more than 20,000 square feet of event space, a resort-style pool, spa, and curated experiences that connect guests to the energy and culture of Dallas.

We are seeking an Overnight Supervisor to support our Rooms Division by providing operational leadership and hands-on support across Front Office and Housekeeping. This role will also serve as a liaison and trusted partner to other hotel departments, including Engineering and Security, facilitating clear communication and coordinated follow-through to support seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.

The Overnight Supervisor will oversee the Front Office and evening Housekeeping teams during assigned shifts, ensuring that service is timely, professional, and in compliance with hotel standards.

This is an excellent development opportunity for a hospitality professional who is ready to expand their experience, take on greater responsibility, and grow into broader Rooms Division leadership. The position is both operational and hands-on, with the expectation that the Overnight Supervisor will provide coverage and direct support in Front Office and Housekeeping as needed.

Schedule

  • Shifts will generally be 8.5 hours in duration, starting anywhere between 7 pm until 11 pm typically from Tuesday through Saturday, based on operational needs.
  • Schedule requirements may vary and evolve based on hotel occupancy, events, weekends, holidays, and other business needs.

What You’ll Do

· Serve as the primary Rooms Division point of contact during assigned evening and overnight shifts, providing operational leadership and hands-on support across Front Office and Housekeeping.

· Supervise, train, coach, and support Front Office and Housekeeping colleagues, including directing daily work, resolving issues, and providing shift coverage as business needs require.

· Oversee PM Housekeeping operations, including turndown service, guest-request deliveries, room readiness, public area coverage, and the timely completion of evening assignments in accordance with hotel standards.

· Monitor Housekeeping workflow, coverage, and room status throughout the evening and overnight hours, adjusting priorities based on occupancy, VIP arrivals, late arrivals, guest requests, and operational needs.

· Follow up on incomplete or outstanding work and verify the completion of end-of-shift responsibilities for public area attendants, housepersons, and other PM Housekeeping colleagues.

· Welcome and assist arriving and departing guests by completing check-in and check-out procedures, responding to requests, providing hotel and local information, and ensuring a warm, professional experience.

· Manage guest complaints, compliments, billing requests, and other concerns with professionalism, empathy, and appropriate follow-through.

· Maintain current knowledge of hotel culture, amenities, services, events, points of interest, and local experiences, and promote hotel offerings when appropriate.

· Partner with Engineering, Security, and other hotel departments to coordinate guest needs, communicate operational priorities, and ensure maintenance and service issues are properly logged, addressed, and followed up on.

· Assist with or complete overnight audit responsibilities as assigned, including reviewing Front Office work, guest accounts, billing, cash transactions, reports, and daily financial activity. Overnight audit is an occasional responsibility and is not the primary focus of the role.

· Handle cash transactions in accordance with the property’s cash-handling policy, support the accuracy of hotel records, and maintain awareness of hotel activity and overnight safety and security procedures.

· Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of management, uphold Hyatt and Thompson service standards, and complete all other tasks and duties as assigned.
