Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an RN II for overnight coverage in a 23-hour observation unit. The role delivers individualized, goal-directed care under general supervision and collaborates with the health care team to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN or are enrolled in an accredited BSN program with at least one year of RN experience and an active SC (or compact) RN license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
• RN staff hired on/after July 1, 2013 must enroll in accredited BSN program within two years and obtain BSN within four years.
• Minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
• Licensure as RN by SC Board of Nursing or a compact state; BLS required (AHA or ARC CPR/Healthcare Provider).

Responsibilities

• Overnight coverage of a 23-hour observation unit.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care.
• Work with health care team to achieve safe, effective outcomes.
• Hours: Nights 6:00 PM–6:30 AM; Mon–Thu; no weekends or major holidays.
