Job summary

River's Edge Hospital is seeking a Charge Nurse for the overnight shift (7:00pm – 7:30am). The RN will provide nursing care, coordinate unit activities, and support safety and quality initiatives. This role includes staff training and real-time ADT oversight as part of daily responsibilities.

The position is .75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks) with every third weekend, and requires Minnesota RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS/PALS or TNCC readiness within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Holds a current Minnesota RN license.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
• ACLS or ability to complete ACLS within six months of hire.
• TNCC or ability to complete TNCC within eighteen months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Charge Nurse is the first level of administration assigned to the unit in the absence of the Nursing Manager and House Manager.
• Communicate with on-duty Nursing Manager/House Manager to address unit issues and staffing.
• Organize, prioritize and delegate workflow including assignments.
• Oversee ADT transactions and patient flow (admissions, discharges, transfers).
• Collaborate with other health care disciplines to maintain optimal patient care.
