Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor to coordinate and oversee activities of staff in the Respiratory Therapy Department and Pulmonary Function Testing Labs. You will ensure high-quality patient care across infant to adult populations while complying with OSHA, Joint Commission and state board standards.

Lead and mentor staff, maintain competency, and uphold the MetroHealth System’s mission and values in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by NBRC.
• Active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the Ohio Medical Board.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 3 years of progressive clinical Respiratory Therapy experience including supervisor responsibilities.
• Demonstrated clinical competence.
• Strong leadership, teaching, and mentoring skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from the AHA.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and evaluates all activities performed by staff in the Respiratory Therapy Department and Pulmonary Function Testing Labs.
• Contributes to the efficient operation of the Pulmonary Practice.
• Maintains competency to provide patient care across infant through adult populations as dictated by OSHA, Joint Commission, the Ohio Medical Board and other regulatory bodies.
• Upholds the MetroHealth System’s mission, vision, values and customer service standards.
