Job summary

League School for Autism in Walpole, MA is seeking DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS for a year-round residential program. Starting pay is $22.50–$26.40/hour; relief staff earn $21.50/hour. Overnight shifts (11:00 p.m.–9:00 a.m.) are available, plus weekend and weekday coverage.

Qualifications include high school diploma, with bachelor's preferred, and carer experience. Benefits include 403(b) and MA Sick Leave.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma and preferably a Bachelor’s degree or be in an undergrad program in related fields.
• Prior experience caring for children in a residential setting; autism experience preferred.
• Safety Care, CPR and First Aid certifications; training provided if needed.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to pass background checks including fingerprint screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in life skills, community trips, personal health care, and social activities.
• Support students by preparing meals and keeping properties safe and clean.
• Demonstrate organization and problem-solving abilities in daily tasks.
• Document incidents and communicate with families, co-workers, and supervisors.
• All shifts require staff to be awake and alert; weekend work is regularly scheduled.
• Collaborate with school staff to coordinate support for students.
• Transport students in League School vans as needed.
