Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers’ Unity House in Keene, NH seeks an Overnight Residential Counselor to provide a safe, nurturing environment for youth 14-18. Under supervision, you’ll apply the program’s mission, treatment philosophy, and policies in direct care and supervision.

You will support daily living activities, supervise routines, and use behavior strategies as trained, ensuring smooth transitions and appropriate care throughout night shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year plus childcare experience in a residential setting required.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for clients and supervise daily living activities.
• Foster healthy relationships with clients through daily interactions.
• Supervise activities and assist with transitions between activities.
• Provide First Aid as needed.
• Plan and participate in individual and small group activities to support growth.
• Participate in off-campus recreational/educational activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized living, dining and educational spaces.
• Coordinate medical and emergency situations with supervisor.
• Communicate with program staff about client progress and challenges.
• Complete paperwork including time sheets, level cards, and incident reports.
• Attend trainings and supervision meetings.
• May be asked to prepare weekend meals.
• If required to transport clients, maintain required liability insurance and current vehicle registration.

Education
