Job summary

The Arc Southern Chesapeake is seeking an Awake Overnight Associate to provide general assistance and ensure safety and dignity for individuals receiving services in a home setting. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, medication, and daily activity planning, while following agency guidelines and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driving license.
• Able to pass criminal background check mandated by the State of Maryland.
• Good driving record with no more than 2 points on the license.
• Reliable vehicle for transporting individuals served.
• Enjoy assisting people and hands-on support.

Responsibilities

• Provides general assistance to the person receiving services while maintaining dignity and respect.
• Assists with and/or dispenses medication as necessary.
• Provides personal care (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming) as needed.
• Ensures physical needs are met and helps meet daily goals.
• Maintains safety and follows agency guidelines in the home.
• Completes tasks assigned by supervisor and prepares individuals for the day.
• Communicates incidents to authorized staff and adheres to reporting regulations.
• Maintains confidential records and ethical practice.
