Job summary

Quincy Medical Group is seeking a Polysomnographic Technician or Trainee to perform sleep studies, prepare patients, and operate specialized equipment in overnight shifts. Trainees receive guided, progressive responsibilities as they demonstrate competency, under supervision by RPSGT or clinical director.

The role includes maintaining equipment, monitoring studies, and documenting data, with opportunities for professional development and growth within the Sleep Center.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Polysomnographic Technician candidates: complete polysomnography program of at least one year or 6 months trainee with competencies; or eligibility for RPSGT exam within one year.
• Trainee candidates should show ability and commitment to develop skills through structured training.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and patient care skills.
• Ability to learn equipment, testing protocols, and procedures.
• Ability to work independently as competencies are achieved while escalating when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for sleep testing and apply monitoring equipment.
• Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot sleep study equipment.
• Monitor sleep study data and adjust data collection as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and provide interventions per protocol.
• Score sleep stages and clinical events, document observations.
• Perform routine equipment care and maintenance.
• Complete required training and continuing education in polysomnography.
• Perform other duties to support Sleep Center operations.
