Job summary

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a compassionate Team Leader to supervise the Mental Health Specialists at the Norfolk Regional Center. This overnight leadership role focuses on guiding patient care, staff development, and unit operations to ensure high-quality services and safety.

You will work closely with the RN Unit Supervisor, oversee team performance, and drive continuous improvement while supporting a mission-driven environment in Nebraska's public health system.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include coursework or training in human services or related field or equivalent direct care experience.
• Experience in leading, coordinating, directing, monitoring or supervising others.
• Must be at least 19 years old to work with adults; 21+ for adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and lead Mental Health Specialists.
• Ensure staff follow hospital policies, procedures and licensing requirements.
• Respond to emergencies or crises and perform crisis interventions as needed.
• Participate in unit treatment team meetings and document shift activities.
• Support QA and PI efforts and conduct incident reviews related to restraints or QA concerns.
• Assist in developing behavior intervention plans and mentor staff on unit orientation.
