Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of delivery driving, warehouse loading, cross-dock, transportation, or related distribution experience preferred; lead experience is a plus.
• Valid Class B commercial driver's license, current DOT medical certification, and acceptable motor vehicle record required, unless designated otherwise for assigned equipment.
• Ability to satisfy all applicable DOT and company driver-qualification, testing, and safety requirements.
• Experience handling refrigerated and frozen food products preferred.
• Ability to read route paperwork, verify counts and item information, and use warehouse systems.
• Pallet-jack experience required; forklift certification or the ability to become certified preferred.
• Ownership and Initiative: Takes responsibility for overnight route readiness and follows issues through to resolution.
• Attention to Detail: Verifies paperwork, product, counts, route sequence, temperatures, and driver materials.
• Organization and Time Management: Prioritizes shuttle, loading, and check-out work against firm departure deadlines.
• Communication: Gives drivers and management clear, timely information about instructions and operating exceptions.
• Safety and Compliance: Works safely around equipment and vehicles and follows food-safety, DOT, and company procedures.
• Flexibility: Moves between lead, warehouse, and driving responsibilities as operating needs change.
• Attendance and Punctuality: Reports reliably and on time for the full overnight schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete and accurate route packets for Baltimore departures, including manifests and delivery instructions.
• Receive the warehouse shuttle and verify trailer condition, seal info, load docs, and transferred product before unloading.
• Unload shuttle freight safely and organize by route, stop, and temperature zone.
• Reload shuttle with returns, empty pallets, and materials for Bensalem.
• Load local cross-dock delivery vehicles in a safe order for dry, refrigerated, and frozen product.
• Verify route freight and paperwork; report shortages, damages, temperatures, or missing items before departure.
• Check out route and driver, confirm vehicle, paperwork, and departure readiness.
• Provide backup coverage and supervise overnight workflow as needed.
