Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Laboratory Scientist- Non-Certified for the overnight shift to perform routine and specialized testing within the Lab-General/Point Of Care department. The role supports physician diagnosis and treatment, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will troubleshoot instrumentation, participate in pre-analytic and analytic workflows, and contribute to quality control and patient safety. Sign-on bonus of $5,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• College or post-graduate laboratory experience.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Ability to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and identify samples with two identifiers.
• Perform CLIA waived and moderate complexity tests per manufacturer specs.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and document maintenance.
• Review reports for errors and ensure quality management.
