Job summary

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Red Bank, NJ is seeking an Inpatient Overnight Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in a 100,000+ sq ft state-of-the-art hospital.

Earn $17.75–$23/hr with a $2/hr overnight differential. Full-time roles offer medical, dental, vision, 401(k), CE access, uniforms, PTO, license reimbursement, and pet discounts. Evening/night schedules available, 10:00pm–8:00am on two rotation options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year animal experience required.
• Fluent English (speaking and reading) required.
• AVA certification or veterinary assistant program completion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient restraint and follow safety protocols during exams and procedures.
• Support technicians with inpatient and transport tasks.
• Prepare lab samples, manage invoicing, and assist with admissions/discharges.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in exam rooms and common areas.
• Restock supplies and manage inventory; complete daily/weekly cleaning tasks.
• Care for hospitalized patients (feeding, walking, husbandry).
• Clean kennels and treatment areas as needed.
