Job summary

Oertel Metal Works in Davenport, IA seeks an Industrial Painter for overnight production, painting fabricated metal parts to meet customer specs. You will prep surfaces, mix/apply coatings, and complete touch-ups, with packaging of finished parts.

The role requires experience with liquid coatings, surface prep, and accurate color/finish application. Must lift up to 50 pounds, follow safety procedures, and be eligible for forklift certification.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience with liquid coatings and surface preparation (cleaning, masking, sanding or grinding).
Ability to mix and apply paints/coatings accurately.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Follow customer specifications and established processes.
Comfortable with hand tools, pneumatic equipment, industrial spray guns and chemical products.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces and apply coatings to fabricated metal products.
Mix paints and coatings; apply with spray equipment; perform touch-ups as needed.
Package finished parts for shipment and maintain clean, safe work area.
Follow customer specs, work instructions, and quality standards.
