Job summary

Oertel Metal Works in Davenport, IA seeks an Industrial Painter for overnight production, painting fabricated metal parts to meet customer specs. You will prep surfaces, mix/apply coatings, and complete touch-ups, with packaging of finished parts.

The role requires experience with liquid coatings, surface prep, and accurate color/finish application. Must lift up to 50 pounds, follow safety procedures, and be eligible for forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with liquid coatings and surface preparation (cleaning, masking, sanding or grinding).
• Ability to mix and apply paints/coatings accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Follow customer specifications and established processes.
• Comfortable with hand tools, pneumatic equipment, industrial spray guns and chemical products.

Oertel Metal Works is currently seeking an Industrial Painter based out of Davenport, Iowa.

The Painter is an important part of our finishing team, preparing and painting fabricated metal products to meet customer specifications and Oertel’s quality standards. This position works throughout the finishing process, including preparing surfaces, mixing and applying coatings, completing touch-ups, and packaging finished parts for shipment.

Day-to-day work may include grinding, sanding, cleaning and masking parts; mixing paints, hardeners and thinners; applying liquid coatings using industrial spray equipment; cleaning and maintaining painting equipment; moving and staging materials; and helping keep the work area clean, organized and safe.

This is a full-time, overnight position working Monday through Friday from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am. Pay ranges from $20.00-$22.00/hour, depending on experience. There will be an additional "per hour" 3rd Shift, Shift Differential paid on top of the base hourly rate.
