Job summary

The Hay-Adams in downtown Washington, DC, invites applications for an In-Room Dining Attendant. Provide exemplary guest service, take orders, prepare and deliver food and guest amenities to guest rooms, and perform night shift side-work in In-Room Dining.

You will observe privacy and safety procedures, upsell items, handle payments, and maintain cleanliness and mise-en-place for breakfast service. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with good English skills and basic math ability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 3–6 months related experience.
• Strong English reading, writing, and spoken communication.
• Basic math with money, weights and measurements.
• Ability to follow hotel procedures and maintain cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Take and deliver In-Room Dining orders according to standards and policies.
• Communicate menu items and upsell food and beverage to guests.
• Prepare mise-en-place and set up breakfast service.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock service items per par levels.
• Ensure guest privacy and safety and follow hotel procedures.
