Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Supervisor, Central Transport for the overnight shift (Tue–Sat) at Tufts Medical Center. The role oversees Hospitality Services, patient satisfaction, throughput improvements, and staff performance to ensure compliant, high-quality service delivery.

The position requires strong supervisory experience, call center exposure in a medical setting, and the ability to coordinate patient flow and service operations across departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a call center or supervisory role in a medical setting.
• Preferred: 3 years of call center or supervisory experience in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Resolve patient, visitor, staff or employee complaints and participate in service improvements.
• Coordinate bed throughput with nursing and placement staff to ensure access to care.
• Ensure appropriate coverage by understanding and communicating work assignments.
• Conduct training and retraining as needed following approved processes.
• Monitor response times and staff productivity to meet departmental standards.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff and support employee satisfaction.
• Enforce policies and address performance as needed.
• Oversee hospitality functions to ensure timely task completion and issue resolution.
• Communicate delays or issues with hospital personnel regarding service requests.
• Monitor projects and on-call staff; support new employees.
• Demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette and listening skills.
• Ensure devices and communication tools function properly for the hospitality team.
• Assist in performance evaluations and identify ratings improvements.
• Support essential operations during emergencies or severe weather.
