Job summary

LSU Health New Orleans Division of Property and Facilities is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Custodian 1 or 2 Overnight Floor Care. The role focuses on floor care and maintenance in buildings on the Downtown Campus, with possible general housekeeping duties.

Hours are 9:00 pm to 5:30 am, Monday–Friday. Starting pay is $10 for Custodian 1 and $10.70 for Custodian 2, plus $1 shift differential and $1 longevity pay for eligible hours.

Qualifications

• No experience or training required.
• Duties include floor care and general housekeeping as needed.
• Care and safe operation of floor care equipment.

Responsibilities

• properly use floor care equipment as needed
• burnish or spray buff resilient tile floors
• strip and re-finish resilient tile floors
• shampoo carpets
• deep scrub ceramic tile floors, tile grout and wall bases
• pre-checks on equipment for safety and usage
• operate backpack vacuums, wide-area vacuums, electric pressure washers, rotary floor machines, walk-behind burnishers, grout machines, wet vacuums, automatic scrubbers
• clean doors, walls after floor care
• perform event set-up and reset space as needed
