Animal Emergency of South Orange County in Mission Viejo, CA is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician for overnight ER care. Join a fast-paced team delivering high-quality emergency services to hospitalized and emergency patients.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of veterinary experience, an active CA RVT license, and a passion for continuous learning within a supportive, mentorship-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of veterinary experience required.
• Active Registered Veterinary Technician license in California.
• Emergency or specialty hospital experience preferred.
• Strong patient care and technical veterinary skills.
• Experience with monitoring, lab work, catheter placement, radiology and meds.
• RECOVER CPR certification is a plus.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in emergencies.
• Passion for patient advocacy and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and licensed technicians in emergency care.
• Perform treatments, diagnostics, monitoring and nursing per Act and protocols.
• Monitor ICU patients and communicate changes.
• Assist with triage and stabilization of emergencies.
• Take patient histories and communicate with clients.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Restrain patients safely following Fear Free guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain treatment, surgery and diagnostic areas.
• Perform labs and collect samples as directed.
• Administer medications per state regulations and protocols.
• Collaborate with doctors to deliver patient care.
• Participate in competency-based training and development.
