Job summary

The PARC Vet in Fort Worth, TX is hiring an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician for full-time overnight shifts. This 24/7 hospital provides comprehensive wellness and ER/critical care in a 25,000 sq ft facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience as a veterinary technician in an Emergency and/or Intensive Care setting.
• ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated experience providing advanced nursing care to hospitalized, high-acuity ICU patients.
• Proven ability to monitor critical patients, interpret BP, ECG, SpO2, EtCO2 and recognize changes needing intervention.
• Hands-on experience managing CRIs, multimodal drug infusions and complex fluid therapy with strong medical math skills.
• Solid understanding of disease progression, treatment plans and medication protocols for critically ill patients.
• Experience with central line and NG tube placement and maintenance, catheter care, and infection-control best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced ICU nursing care for hospitalized, high-acuity patients.
• Monitor and interpret patient data (BP, ECG, SpO2, EtCO2), labs, fluid balance and pain scores.
• Manage CRIs, multimodal drug infusions, and complex fluid therapy.
• Perform and maintain central lines, NG tubes, and long-term catheters with infection-control practices.
• Support higher-risk anesthesia cases and prolonged post-operative and critical recovery care.
• Assist veterinarians with advanced procedures and specialty surgeries per guidelines.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure clear shift-to-shift communication.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and medical team on evolving treatment plans and patient flow.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding status, medications, and plans.
• Utilize safe restraint techniques and keep ICU areas clean, organized, and sterile.
• Mentor and support ER technicians and developing ICU staff while staying calm under pressure.
