BluePearl Pet Hospital in Avondale, AZ is hiring an Overnight Veterinary Technician (licensed or unlicensed) to join our busy Emergency department. Schedule is Sunday–Tuesday 7pm–7am, with options for 4/10s over 3/12s.

Pay ranges from $22–$32 per hour, with scale based on experience; base pay excludes shift differentials. The role includes anesthesia induction/monitoring, triage of emergencies, radiography, vital signs monitoring, CPR readiness, accurate dosing, phlebotomy, catheter placement,

Qualifications

• Overnight ER veterinary technician in Avondale, AZ.
• Licensed or unlicensed candidates considered.
• Experience with anesthesia and monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiration and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vitals and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Provide patience and empathy to address client concerns.
