Qualifications

• Virginia Licensure required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• One or more years of experience with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients.
• May consider an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by determining animal requirements, performing examinations and diagnostic procedures, and maintaining medical records.
• Assist during surgeries and operations and provide nursing care, feeding, and grooming for patients.
• Assist with triage, discharge of patients, and communication with pet owners as directed by the veterinarian.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment and ensure proper handling of medications and supplies.
• Support inventory, equipment maintenance, and compliance with applicable regulations.
