Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Fort Lauderdale seeks an experienced HVAC technician to maintain and repair equipment across guest rooms, public areas, and meeting spaces. You will monitor the Building Management System, perform preventive maintenance, and support engineers during repairs.

The role requires EPA universal licenses and flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, with strong communication to guests and a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• EPA universal licenses are required.
• Previous HVAC maintenance experience required; hotel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems.
• Experience reading and interpreting schematics.
• Must have general computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel; ability to learn related engineering programs.
• Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.
• Must have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Must be able to interact and communicate with hotel guests.
• Ability to move up to 50 pounds; work indoors and outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on HVAC equipment.
• Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment in the building including guest rooms, public areas, meeting rooms and parking garage.
• Monitor and operate Building Management System (BMS).
• Work on other equipment as needed.
• Maintain correct stock/inventory of HVAC supplies and filters and communicate replenishment needs.
• Respond to all requests and assist engineers and mechanics as needed.
• Understand fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
• Keep work areas clean and follow safety policies; protect company assets.
• Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.

JOBPURPOSE

To ensure that all work requestspertaining tokitchens, function rooms, foodoutletsand public areas aremaintainedwith a reasonable amount of repair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on HVAC equipment.
• Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment in the building including guest rooms, public areas, meetingroomsand parking garage.
• Monitoring and operation of BMS (Building Management System).
• Work on other equipment as needed.
• Maintain correct stock/inventory of HVAC supplies and filers and communicate when replenishment is needed.
• Respond to all requests.
• Assistengineers and mechanics as needed with repairs.
• Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
• Keep all work areas clean.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
• Ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Performs other duties as needed.

• Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.
• Must be able toworka flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Mustbe able to interact and communicate with the hotel guests.
• Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds withoutassistance. Stand,walkor sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
• Must work indoors andoutdoorsincluding during extreme weather conditions.
• May be asked to be part of "ride-out" crew during severe weather events.
• Must be able to work using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts.
