Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliable operation of kitchen, function room, food outlet, and public area equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, repair commercial kitchen gear, boilers, and dishwashing systems while supporting engineers and ensuring guest comfort.

The role requires the ability to work flexible hours, be indoors and outdoors, and respond to guest requests with professionalism and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance experience required; hotel experience preferred.
  • Commercial kitchen experience preferred; refrigeration experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, and gas systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting schematics.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, time management and guest-satisfaction focus required.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Repair and maintain all commercial kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, hot boxes, and small appliances.
  • Operate and maintain low-pressure boilers for hot water systems.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

To ensure that all work requests pertaining to kitchens, function rooms, food outlets and public areas are maintained with a reasonable amount of repair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Repair and maintain all commercial kitchen equipment including stove tops, ovens, hot boxes, and small appliances
  • Operate and maintain low-pressure boilers for the hot water system.
  • Maintain and repair dish washing equipment
  • Complete all assigned work orders and daily tasks promptly.
  • Maintain correct stock/inventory of kitchen parts and communicate when replenishment is needed.
  • Respond to all requests from guests and associates.
  • Assist engineers and mechanics as needed with repairs.
  • Keep all work areas clean.
  • Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Performs other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous maintenance experience required; hotel experience preferred.
  • Commercial kitchen experience preferred; commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting schematics.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, computer proficiency, and a focus on guest satisfaction are essential.
  • Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Must work indoors and outdoors including during extreme weather conditions.
  • May be asked to be part of ride-out crew during severe weather events
  • Must be able to work using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts.
ENVIRONMENT&POSITION ANALYSIS:
  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Requires repetitive motion, including the use of handheld and powered tools.
