BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring for an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician!

Pay: $20.00 - $40.50 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience, licensure, and progression through our leveling system.

Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

This is an overnight position! We offer a competitive shift differential for all overnight shifts. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.00 Shift Differential

As an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart and respiratory rates, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting the veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical dosages (including CRIs) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
