Job summary

PetVet is seeking an Overnight Emergency Veterinarian to provide high-quality care during our most critical hours at our 24/7 Emergency Hospital in California. The role requires overnight shifts Friday through Sunday and involves urgent care, diagnostics, and surgery.

You will work with experienced technicians and support staff to manage overnight patients, maintain records, and communicate clearly with clients during stressful situations.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• DVM/VMD from an accredited college or university.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 1+ years of emergency practice experience.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Excellent surgical and dental skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Excellent communication with staff and clients.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver urgent and emergency medical care to dogs, cats, and exotic pets.
• Perform diagnostics, triage, and life-saving treatments and surgery.
• Manage overnight hospitalized patients.
• Collaborate with experienced technicians and support staff.
• Ensure clients are informed, supported, and cared for during stressful moments.
