Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is seeking an Emergency Overnight Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 ER team in Houston, TX. Earn $35-$40/hr for VTS, $21-$34/hr for credentialed technicians, or $19-$30/hr for non-credentialed techs, with $2/hr overnight and $3/hr weekend differentials and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred.
• Two years veterinary experience recommended.
• Emergency or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
• Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, radiology safety, and fluid therapy.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required; multilingual candidates encouraged.

Responsabilités

• Triage patients in the Emergency Room according to triage levels and provide lifesaving care under ER doctor direction.
• Assess pets, obtain history, take vitals and communicate concerns to doctors.
• Perform diagnostics, execute treatment plans and hospitalize patients as needed.
• Provide advanced nursing care and monitoring for hospitalized patients, including meds, treatments and fluid therapy.
• Deliver compassionate client support with timely updates and help owners understand condition and prognosis.
• Maintain accurate medical records and coordinate with veterinarians and staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain clean and ready treatment areas and manage medical equipment and supplies.
