Job summary

Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) in Houston, TX seeks an Overnight ICU/CCT Technician Assistant to provide compassionate care for hospitalized patients. Role includes patient husbandry, monitoring vitals, and assisting veterinarians and technicians during exams and workups, with a strong emphasis on team communication and efficiency.

Responsibilities span clinical care, transport, sample collection, and clerical tasks, with rotating full-time schedule and differential pay for overnight

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required; higher education preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of general or specialty veterinary service experience.
• Fluent English (speaking and reading) required; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient husbandry, stocking, cleaning, and record-keeping.
• Monitor vitals, intake/output, urination and bowel movements; alert Vet if out of range.
• Assist with diagnostics, radiographs, triages, and ER/ICU patient care.
• Prepare workstations, manage equipment, and maintain a clean, sanitized environment.
• Collaborate with Doctors, Leadership, Charge Technicians, and CPCs; attend staff meetings.
• Stocking, janitorial, and clerical duties as needed.
