Job summary

Hillside Veterinary Clinic in Dallas, TX is seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician for our overnight emergency team (7pm–7am). In this role you’ll provide hands-on critical care, support veterinarians during exams and procedures, and monitor anesthesia in a fast-paced setting.

You’ll collaborate with a skilled team, contribute to high‑quality diagnostics and treatment, document patient records, and mentor junior staff as we deliver outstanding emergency care around the clock.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of emergency veterinary technician experience.
• ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT credentials encouraged.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting skills.
• Experience with post-operative and emergency patient care.
• Ability to assess patient condition and respond in fast-paced situations.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians during emergency exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency surgeries and post-operative care.
• Provide emergency nursing care and first aid to injured or recovering patients.
• Prepare patients and surgical instruments for procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and interpret data (BP, ECG, SpO2, EtCO2).
• Collect lab samples and perform in-house diagnostics.
• Operate digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Document patient histories and medical records.
• Maintain clean, sterile treatment areas.
• Mentor and support fellow technicians and assistants.
