Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota seeks an Overnight Direct Support Professional in Minnesota. You will provide guidance, advocacy, and safety for individuals receiving services, including transporting to appointments and events.

You will maintain documentation and participate in trainings, with an opportunity to progress wage after six months of consistent employment. Strong patience, problem-solving, and boundary-setting are essential to support independence and personal choice.

Qualifications

• Background check required.
• Experience and/or training with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Computer skills to support LSS Minnesota technology and basic math skills.
• Able to read, write, and solve problems.
• Able to recognize boundaries and exhibit patience, self-control, and flexibility.
• Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service.
• Medication administration training may be obtained after hire.
• CPR/First Aid certification may be obtained after hire.
• Mental Health certification is desired (may be obtained after hire).

Responsabilités

• Provide guidance, encouragement, support, comfort, security, and safety through relationship building and direct interaction with individuals served.
• Advocate for individuals in medical and community activities and for personal choice.
• Address emergencies and situations as they arise.
• Support individuals in performing essential living skills for greater independence.
• Provide transportation to appointments and events as requested.
• Maintain documentation and perform record keeping.
• Participate in periodic meetings and trainings as required.
