Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide person-centered care in a residential setting. You will build relationships, assist with daily living activities, and support community involvement while monitoring health and documenting care.

The role includes a part-time overnight shift (10:00pm–7:00am) with a starting wage of $16.00 per hour and the opportunity to reach $16.50 after six months, plus a $2,500 hiring bonus.

Qualifications

• A genuine heart for helping others and ability to support people with identified needs through person-centered care.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English for clear communication and quality support.
• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record; willing to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check to maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Help with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene, meals, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people’s rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings
