Job summary

Winter Family Care LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for overnight shifts in Duluth. You will provide direct care, support daily living activities, and promote independence for individuals with disabilities within the community.

Responsibilities include implementing person-centered plans, documenting progress, and coordinating with healthcare teams. Training is provided; a valid license is required for community activities if applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required; training provided.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community-based activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized support for daily living activities including personal hygiene, meals, medication management, and household tasks.
• Foster positive relationships with individuals, families, and guardians and promote effective communication.
• Implement person-centered plans and uphold the individual's rights and preferences.
• Facilitate community integration through recreational, social, and vocational activities.
• Monitor and document progress and report significant changes.
• Respond to emergencies following established protocols to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development.
