Job summary

Devereux Massachusetts is seeking Direct Support/Care Professionals to work with youth facing psychological, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The role emphasizes safety, compassionate intervention, and teaching daily living skills in a supportive setting.

You will document progress and incidents, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in a 2-week orientation in Rutland, MA. MAP certification is required or obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous experience with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional or behavioral disorders preferred.
• Must attend a 2-week paid orientation in Rutland, MA.
• MAP certification required or able to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Ensure safety and security of youth through direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate, safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful, positive manner and reinforce appropriate behaviors.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills.
• Maintain organized documentation, including progress notes and incident reports.

The pay range for this position is $21.12 to $24.58 per hour depending on experience and education.

The Following Schedules Are Available

Part-Time (16 hours): Sunday; 7am - 11pm

Part-Time (20 hours): Friday & Saturday; 11pm - 9am

$250 bonus if MAP Certified!

serves students with various complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Devereux's Cathy House program serves co-ed individuals aged 5 to 12 with ASD and IDD, most of whom are non-verbal. With 1:2 staff to students ratio, this program offers a high level of individualized care. The program goal is to teach, coach, and support our individuals to learn daily living skills, coping skills, and social skills while staying active and having fun.

As a Direct Support/Care Professional, You Will

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision .
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily (ADL) Living Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.
