Job summary

Devereux Massachusetts is seeking Direct Support/Care Professionals to work with youth in the Cathy House program, supporting daily living, coping, and social skills. You will supervise and guide interactions with a 1:2 staff-to-student ratio in a ASD/IDD setting.

The role includes 21.12–24.58 USD per hour, part-time or full-time night shifts, and a $250 bonus upon MAP certification. A 2-week orientation in Rutland, MA is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• MAP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Must attend a 2-week paid orientation in Rutland, MA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of all youth under supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate environment.
• Engage with youth to teach daily living and coping skills.
• Teach Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and document progress notes.
• Maintain organizational and communication standards for reports.

The following schedules are available:Part-Time (20 hours): Friday and Saturday 11:00pm to 9:00am

Full-Time (40 hours): Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 11:00pm to 9:00am

$250 bonus if MAP Certified!

Devereux - Massachusetts serves students with various complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Devereux's Cathy House program serves co-ed individuals aged 5 to 12 with ASD and IDD, most of whom are non-verbal. With 1:2 staff to students ratio, this program offers a high level of individualized care. The program goal is toteach, coach, and support our individuals to learn daily living skills, coping skills, and social skills while staying active and having fun.

As a Direct Support/Care Professional, you will:

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily (ADL) Living Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.

Job Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
• Must be MAP certified, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
