Job summary

The YWCA of Western Massachusetts in Springfield, MA is seeking a Direct Service Advocate (HYPP_3rd_FT) to support residents in its Holyoke Youth Parent Program. You will work as part of a team with peers, supervisors, clinicians and outside connections to provide safe, trauma-informed services.

Duties include nurturing a family-driven milieu, maintaining safety checks, documenting AWARDS data, supervising mothers and children, and ensuring 1:6 staff-to-child ratio.

Qualifications

• A.A. or equivalent education or experience in a human service field.
• One year of counseling and direct service experience.
• Experience with victims of domestic violence.
• Reliable transportation, safe driving record, and valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, advocacy and role modeling to participants in residential programs.
• Maintain a 1:6 staff-to-child ratio at all times.
• Follow daily schedules and facilitate resident participation and community responsibilities.
• Perform safety checks every shift and complete required documentation.
• Complete AWARDS logs and program communications daily.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the facility and lodging.
• Attend meetings, supervision and trainings as required.
