Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; relevant retail experience may be considered.
• Good interpersonal skills to connect with customers and provide accurate information.
• Basic math to handle cash, calculate change, and balance registers.
• Must read and apply company procedure documents.
• Ability to work in a team and follow directions from management.
• Able to monitor activity in-store and at gas pumps.
• Opportunity to operate microwaves, small ovens and kitchen equipment.
• Capable of handling stress during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Display a customer-first attitude with immediate attention to each customer.
• Participate in store promotions and programs.
• Complete company-sponsored training and updates on schedule.
• Complete specialized training on food prep, handling and storage.
• Know weekly/monthly promotions and suggest add-ons to customers.
• Receive payments and give back change as needed.
• Operate cash register, card scanners, lottery and other sale devices.
• Monitor gas pump activity for safety and accuracy of transactions.
• Prepare deli orders accurately for customers.
• Follow Serve-Safe and portion-control standards and recipes.
• Control deli waste and food spoilage; monitor inventory dates.
• Read alpha-numeric data on registers and documents accurately.
• Keep temperature logs up-to-date and accurate.
