Job summary

VCA Vet Care in Albuquerque is seeking an experienced Critical Care Technician to join our overnight CCU team. You will work closely with a board-certified CCV to provide intensive management for critically ill or injured patients using advanced monitoring and therapies.

The role requires minimum 3 years of CCU experience, strong IV and venipuncture skills, and the ability to restrain and manage distressed patients. A proactive, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of previous critical care experience.
• Strong skills in IV catheter placements and venipuncture.
• Safe restraining on cats and dogs (exotics a plus).
• Anesthesia monitoring for critical patients.
• Critical thinking and initiative.
• Excellent communication and client service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive management for critically ill or injured animals in CCU.
• Operate oxygen therapy, cardiac monitoring, and transfusion equipment.
• Collaborate with board-certified CCV to deliver top care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and care logs.
