Synova Group is hiring an Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Minnesota to support adults and others in crisis. You will work in a setting focusing on stabilization, following care plans and training to manage complex behaviors.

The role involves building relationships, assisting with daily activities, and participating in community outings, with paid training at our Brooklyn Park office and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Be at least 18 years of age.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Administer medications according to training and procedures.
Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
Document services and events using an online system.
Support independence while tailoring level of support to each individual.

This is a crisis group home which is a short‑term, highly supportive residential setting designed for children, teens, or adults who are experiencing an emotional, behavioral, or other crisis. The goal is stabilization — not long‑term placement — so the person can return home or move to a more appropriate setting once the individual has stabilized and a plan is in place. The individuals we support in this setting are often highly behavioral, may be violent at times, display verbal aggression, and may elope. It is imperative that employees follow our training, policies, and care plans to support individuals with these unique needs.

Supporting individuals with health and safety needs, money management, and behavior support strategies.
Administering medications according to training and company procedures.
Providing transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings.

Encouraging independence while providing the level of support each individual needs.

What is an Adult Crisis Group Home?

This Adult Crisis Group Home is a short-term, highly supportive residential setting designed for adults experiencing an emotional, behavioral, or mental health crisis. Unlike a traditional group home, the goal of this program is stabilization—not long-term placement. Our team provides intensive support to help each individual safely return home or transition to a more appropriate long-term setting once they have stabilized and an individualized plan is in place.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED preferred.
Have experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and maintain a clean driving record.
Have access to an insured vehicle.
Successfully pass a DHS background study.
Have basic computer skills for documentation and communication.

Preferred Qualifications for Adult Crisis DSPs:

Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional or in behavioral health.
Experience working with adults who have behavioral, developmental, or mental health diagnoses.
Comfortable responding to crisis situations and managing physically aggressive behaviors using approved intervention techniques.
