Synova Group is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for an Adult Crisis Group Home in Columbus, MN. You will help adults with developmental or mental health needs live safely, build daily living skills, and participate in community activities.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, providing transportation, documenting services, and supporting crisis interventions when needed. Training is provided, and the role emphasizes compassion, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record.
• Access to an insured vehicle.
• Successfully pass a DHS background study.
• Have basic computer skills for documentation and communication.

What is an Adult Crisis Group Home?

This Adult Crisis Group Home is a short-term, highly supportive residential setting designed for adults experiencing an emotional, behavioral, or mental health crisis. Unlike a traditional group home, the goal of this program is stabilization—not long-term placement. Our team provides intensive support to help each individual safely return home or transition to a more appropriate long-term setting once they have stabilized and an individualized plan is in place.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Have experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and maintain a clean driving record.
• Have access to an insured vehicle.
• Successfully pass a DHS background study.

Preferred Qualifications for Adult Crisis DSPs:

• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional or in behavioral health.
• Experience working with adults who have behavioral, developmental, or mental health diagnoses.
• Comfortable responding to crisis situations and managing physically aggressive behaviors using approved intervention techniques.
