Job summary

DuPage County Health Department is actively seeking a Crisis Services Counselor to join the Crisis Services team in Wheaton, IL. The role encompasses emergency intervention, on-site evaluations, and coordinated case management across mental health units.

You will facilitate referrals to community resources, maintain licensure, and collaborate with colleagues and providers to ensure high-quality crisis care. Overnight shifts Thursday–Sunday are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience working with chronically mentally ill populations.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and crisis intervention services in-person, via phone, or video.
• Conduct on-site crisis evaluations.
• Complete crisis intervention and case management tasks for clients on mental health units.
• Provide referral and community resource linkage.
• Maintain required training, licensure, and certification.
• Collaborate with staff and community providers.
