Rate of Pay: $22 hourly with an additional $2.50 shift differential between the hours of 10pm-8am.

The Overnight Coordinator provides overnight operational leadership and support to Adult and Children's Residential Services, with a primary focus on the Children's Residential Program. The position is responsible for ensuring safe, consistent, trauma-informed care during overnight hours through staff coordination, shift oversight, scheduling support, and monitoring of program operations.
The Overnight Coordinator serves as the primary overnight resource for direct care staff, ensuring adherence to established treatment, safety, licensing, and program expectations. This role promotes a therapeutic milieu, supports crisis response and de-escalation efforts, ensures completion of required shift responsibilities, and maintains effective communication between overnight and daytime teams.
The Overnight Coordinator models and champions trauma-informed, strengths-based, and relationship-based approaches while supporting staff development, accountability, and quality service delivery.

Essential Functions

Staff Leadership and Supervision

• Providefunctional supervision, coaching, mentoring, and support to overnightdirect care staff.
• Monitorstaff performance and provide real-time feedback regarding programexpectations, documentation, and client care.
• Supportorientation and training of newly hired overnight staff.
• Participatein ongoing staff development and competency monitoring related totrauma-informed care, crisis intervention, therapeutic engagement, andsafety practices.
• Ensurestaff maintain professional boundaries and adhere to organizationalpolicies and procedures.
• Assistleadership with identifying performance concerns and recognitionopportunities.

Scheduling and Staffing Coordination

• Coordinateovernight staffing schedules and ensure adequate staffing coverage acrossresidential programs.
• Arrangeshift coverage for vacancies, call-outs, and emergency staffing needs.
• Monitorstaff attendance, overtime utilization, and scheduling practices.
• Communicatestaffing concerns and recommendations to program leadership.
• Serveas the overnight staffing resource and coordinate with on-call leadershipwhen staffing challenges arise.

Program Oversight and Operations

• Conductregular overnight rounds in children's and adult residential programs.
• Ensurecompletion of required shift duties, cleaning tasks, safety checks, roomchecks, and program-specific checklists.
• Verifythat all residences are secure and operating according to safetystandards.
• Monitorovernight routines to ensure consistency with individual treatment plansand residential expectations.
• Reviewlogs, communication books, electronic records, and incident reports forcompleteness and accuracy.
• Maintainclear communication with daytime leadership regarding program concerns,staffing issues, and significant events.

Safety and Crisis Response

• Serveas the primary overnight support for crisis situations and behavioralescalations.
• Ensureimplementation of approved crisis intervention and de-escalationpractices.
• Supportstaff in utilizing trauma-informed responses that prioritize safety,regulation, and therapeutic relationships.
• Conductsafety audits and environmental checks to identify and mitigate risks.
• Ensureadherence to licensing regulations, agency standards, and safetyprotocols.
• Participatein incident review, follow-up, and corrective action planning asrequested.
• Monitormedication administration practices and documentation when applicable.

Trauma-Informed Practice and Client Care

• Promotea culture of safety, trust, collaboration, empowerment, and respectthroughout overnight operations.
• Ensuredirect care staff consistently implement trauma-informed andstrengths-based interventions.
• Supportstaff in responding appropriately to youth, adults, and familiesexperiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
• Assistin maintaining a therapeutic residential environment that supportstreatment goals and emotional well-being.
• Ensureovernight observations, interventions, and client interactions aredocumented according to organizational standards.

Communication and Collaboration

• Act asa liaison between overnight operations and daytime leadership teams.
• Communicatesignificant events, incidents, and follow-up needs to supervisors andmanagers.
• Collaboratewith clinical, educational, medical, and residential staff to ensurecontinuity of care.
• Participatein team meetings, supervision, training activities, and qualityimprovement initiatives.
• Supportcoordination with on-call administrators and community partners as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate'sdegree required; Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, HumanServices, Education, Mental Health, or related field preferred.

Experience

• Minimumthree years of experience in residential, behavioral health, childwelfare, mental health, or related human service settings.
• Experienceworking with children and adolescents required.
• Priorleadership, shift lead, supervisory, or scheduling experience preferred.
• Experiencein crisis intervention and trauma-informed care strongly preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Validdriver's license required.
• Abilityto obtain and maintain required agency certifications.
• Crisisintervention certification (TCI, Safety-Care, CPI, or equivalent) requiredor obtainable within established timeframes.
• Medicationcertification as required by program.
